Stock Charts
Every business or trade has to follow a planned method so that all the transactions can be done smoothly. Stock
charts are a way by which the stock market puts forward all the details about the stocks in the market. It is a
process by which the data about the price and the volume of a share is collected and analyzed through mathematical
equations and then the result is shown on the graph so that the future price of the share can be predicted.
The stock charts are prepared on the basis of two analyses. The technical analysis that deals with the effect on
the share in relation to its previous price graph and another is the fundamental analysis which is concerned about
the causes affecting the market.
The stock charts presented through these analyses are related to the manipulation of the data that is available
regarding the price of the share and its trade volume that takes place in from time to time. The information that
is derived is then put up in the form of visual display so that the investors can refer to it and gain knowledge
about the market trend and the price of the shares. These analyses are also known as indicators and the addition of
variables used through mathematical methods can make the indicators a leading or a lagging indicator. The stock
chart depends mainly on the historical data that is available about a stock.
The basic fundamentals on which the stock charts are prepared can be defined as follows; Mathematical equation
patterns used to show the market trend. It takes into consideration only the market pattern but does not emphasize
on the factors that are affecting the market trend. As trading involves human beings the market is also affected by
human psychology so it is not possible to predict the market trend totally on mathematical equation.
The stock charts rely heavily on historical data as it has been observed that the market trend has remained the
same for a long period in spite of all mathematical predictions. Thus stock chart is a way by which the investor
can study the market pattern of a stock and invest accordingly.
